Therapy for Anxiety, Stress, and Burnout
Helping you approach life instead of shutting down, while learning how to step back from anxious thoughts and feelings.
Anxiety and stress are normal parts of the human experience, and have been flooding most of us in recent years, with the pandemic, political battles, pervasive social inequity, hate crimes, gun violence… on top of all that our personal lives bring. It can be tough to tell when it’s becoming too intense, but you know when it happens. You could be flooded with anxious energy, heart racing, trouble breathing, feeling faint. You might experience GI stuff that has you visiting your physician, only to receive a irritable bowel syndrome or other nonspecific diagnosis. Maybe you are battling for sleep, your mind racing anytime you are not busy with something else. Your loved ones may be noticing you being more irritable or snappy than usual. Sometimes you can struggle to maintain focus, with your mind going blank. And maybe you just keep pushing and pushing until you feel hollowed out, emptied of motivation and energy and dreading work. Your life might start narrowing from all the things you need to avoid to keep anxiety from flaring.
You are not alone - anxiety is the most common emotional problem in the United States, and has been on the rise. I have helped many people move past their anxiety, finding ways to pull themselves out of sticky, looping, spiraling thoughts. We will figure out together how to start approaching all the things that are important to you again, and to pinpoint what those are in case you’re not sure anymore. You can lead a full and meaningful life, taking control back from anxiety.
